In a distaster? You’re on your own.

Well, that is the message that Eric Cantor wants to convey.  To him, political talking points trump helping fellow American citizens recover from a disaster.  I will have to give Cantor one thing.  At least, he has been consistent all along.  Takes a lot of intestinal fortitude to say to one’s own constituents that it… [Read more…]

Federal agents of a Republican president seized newspapers published by a Democratic newspaper.  I guess that is what the Republicans really mean about taking us back to a better time.

Get ready for a tax increase from the GOP

August 22, 2011

On Jan 1st, a tax break that amounts to 2% of one’s payroll will expire.  Unlike the Bush tax cuts, the GOP have no plans to extend it for another year.  By the very definitions used by the GOP and tea party, this is a tax increase.  This is a tax increase the affects the… [Read more…]

I’ll have to say that the debt ceiling deal is a true compromise.  Absolutely nobody likes.

The good prosecutor of Indianapolis, who promised to clean up the prosecutor’s office, dropped charges against a company that was buy stolen goods.  Yes sir, in Indianapolis, one can pay $300,000 (20% of which goes to the prosecutor’s office) to just make charges go away.

What in the world is McConnell thinking?

July 13, 2011

Is it me or did McConnell just advocate that Congress abdicate its responsibilities to the president?  It certainly seems that way since he proposed allowing Obama to automatically raise the debt limit unless 2/3 of Congress blocks it.  Hey McConnell… how about growing a pair and do your job! This is the problem with Republicans.  … [Read more…]

Is state’s rights really a fantasy?

When the court ruled that generic drug manufacturers did not have to follow… [Read more…]

Georgia is one of those states that decided to do something about them thar people with funny names.  Well, it was such a success that they left.  Big problem though… there is now nobody to harvest the crops which are now rotting in the field.  It seems that the owners of the farms are not… [Read more…]

I guess it’s only cut-and-run when it’s a Republican in the White House

The Republican controlled House defeated a resolution to allow Obama to continue his war in Libya.  As I said before, we should not be involved in this war.  Forcing Obama to leave is not a bad thing in my mind.  However, I would like to point out a quote. We find ourselves past the three-month… [Read more…]

About that debt ceiling…

If we are going to have to stop paying certain debts because Congress is incapable of doing its job, I say one of the first things to go on the chopping block should be all entitlements such as Social Security, Medicare, and so on.  If you voted for these nimrods, you should suffer the consequences… [Read more…]

SCOTUS rules pro-corporation yet again

June 23, 2011

This time, our favorite activist judges decided that generic drug manufacturers are not held to the same standard as brand name manufacturers.  No sir, we can’t let things like killing and crippling people interfere with the holy grail of profit at any cost.  With this ruling, if I was running a pharmaceutical company, I would… [Read more…]
